Teaching

Learning to play an instrument can be one of the most engaging and rewarding experiences, and as a teacher I enjoy helping to foster a love of music in others.

 

I’m used to adapting lessons to suit each student, making them engaging and inspiring, and I really see the benefits of encouragement and praise in enabling students to reach their potential.

 

Pupils range from absolute beginners through to advanced levels, I teach privately and in schools and my students have a 100% pass rate for ABRSM exams. I held the Oboe Tutor position at Hackney Youth Orchestra Trust until 2021, and was woodwind specialist at Enfield Youth Symphony Orchestra until moving to Belfast in 2024.

 

Private lessons take place at my home in SE London and online. I have a fully enhanced DBS certificate, and have attended child protection training.

 

During my time at Ulster Orchestra I was fully involved in the unique Learning and Community Engagement programme, including many off-platform activities such as presenting my instrument in workshops at local schools, and featuring in their digital teaching aid.
